This will be my last post on this site and hopefully will be read by those doing any sort of debrief in relation to the bowling and considered by those organising the wpfg2017 in Montreal.
This event suffered on so many levels
1..Lack of knowledge and experience of running a high level bowling tournament.
2..Failure to correctly place bowler in the correct divisions and age groups
even though they had been told either verbally or by email
3..Late notice of scheduling changes
4..Delayed start...This will be my last post on this site and hopefully will be read by those doing any sort of debrief in relation to the bowling and considered by those organising the wpfg2017 in Montreal.

2..Failure to correctly place bowler in the correct divisions and age groups

3..Late notice of scheduling changes
4..Delayed start times and prolonged delays in changing lanes
5..Spliting Divisions to bowl over two days, therefore giving the bowler in the 2nd squad (next day) the knowledge of the top scores to beat.
6..This was a very large bowling alley. Single, Doubles, Team event could have been done on the same day. This would helped with a later start time and negate point 5
7..Recording and collating of the scores. This was so badly done that bowlers were made to wait hours for the medal ceremony, only for medals to be seized back, or no medals awarded due to suspect recording of the scores
8..Posting of daily scores for everyone to see. this helps bowlers and organisers, with finding errors at early stage
9.Total lack of policing the averages. This resulted in a certain bowler whose submitted average placed him in the B Div, when in fact this bowler was a high level bowler and should have been in the Open Div. The organisers should have disqualified that bowler.
10..Implementing a tournament average, policed by the wpfg/cpaf. This has been a problem at various past games. If all events scores are available from previous games, use them as well.
11..Perhaps a New Tournament Director
++++++++++++++++
The points above are a mixture of my own views and views from others who took part in the bowling. Please take them on board
If mistakes are repeated in Montreal, expect attendances for the bowling in future games to fall off expected levels
Thank you for taking the time to read this

just checked the record/result for the bowling.. the records cannot be trusted
The results shown for the Mens B Div Doubles are the same as the medal ceremony, which I challenged at the ceremony and was found in my favour.
I got my silver medal at the bowl at the time. I feel sorry for those who have to collate the results from the event coordinators, who are dealing with bad info and thus showing bad result page, on this website

After a decent sleep and thinking about what took place over the 3 days of bowling, a recurring theme was the coordinator not receiving emails asking questions, or trying to sort out errors in the scheduling . I sent an email direct to cpaf in April with the metropolitan London police lineups, partners for each event, and their averages . It was very clear, who was doing what and with who. I got a response that it had been forwarded to the coordinators. It appears that a lot of the blame for the scheduling problem lie direct in California. Unfortunately those running the event in Fairfax took the brunt of the criticism.
Unfortunately those in Fairfax created their own problem with lack of accurate recording of scores with led to chaos at each medal ceremony.

I'm sorry to say that this games bowling was the worse run event I've been to. Poor scheduling , poor management of the event, poor recording of scores.
Wpfg need to sort this out.

They often state that the Olympics are the biggest sporting event in the world, normally have 9500 competitors. I would argue that, esp after New York games in 2011, who had 18,000 competitors.
How many have registered to compete at Fairfax so far

Have you checked your accounts to see if registration and bowling fees have been taken. If not try to register again. As registration is closed for most events, consider emailing the event organisers at the cpaf.. Address is on the website
Road trip to the Games now sorted, after 5351 mile flight to San Francisco. Its Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Winslow, Gallup, Albuquerque, Tucumcari, Amarillo, Oklahoma City, Memphis, Nashville, Pigeon Forge, Fairfax.
3102 mile journey excluding detours
Can't wait

Almost there, another 4 weeks today before i leave the UK and head to the States. Flying into San Francisco and spending two weeks slowly driving across the country towards Fairfax. Hopefully find some decent bowling alleys along the route for some practise

I asked this question many months ago, was informed that a standard house pattern would be used. In the absence of recognised pattern, I would like to known the length of the oil in the standard house pattern, if that is what is used.
Have tried to change my initial registering, Website will not allow to easily change. Spent over an hour to try and get my submissions right, but the site will not allow me to change the Divisons that I now want to bowl in, due to changes in the makeup/averages of the Guys coming over from the UK.
Frustrating

As bowlers are starting to sign up and maybe looking for partners / teams to compete in all sections of the competition. Can I make a suggestion, when submitting a post, apart from where you are from, also add the section you intend / wish to bowl in (Open, A, B, Grand Masters Divisions), also your expected average for the event.
This will allow those teams with openings to assess if you fit into their teams.
Nice to see a whole loads of photographers coming on board for the games, when you compete, you don't have time to think about recording images of old and new friends whilst competing. When one does, frankly most are only worthy of deletion.
Look forward to viewing these photos in the future. Hope to see a few of you at the bowling
