Originally from Ecuador, Maggie Dabe came to the U.S. to go to school and learn English. She did both and then became a U.S. citizen.

But despite her associate's degree in international business, Dabe wanted to do more "just to make me feel like I was doing something, (like) I was making a difference and helping other people."

So she became a firefighter. At her firehouse, she met her future business partner and fiancé, Jeff Tincher. The two opened CrossFit Fairfax and later CrossFit Reston, and they were recently married.

Today, Dabe is also a member of CrossFit's Level 1 Seminar Staff.

"CrossFit and the community have made me a better person. I have grown a lot. The community here—being with my clients and helping them achieve their goal—they have given me this satisfaction," she says. "It can't compare to anything else that I have done."
