Special Ceremonies and Memorial Services During Fairfax 2015
During the Fairfax 2015 World Police & Fire Games athletes, friends, family and local spectators can join us for both exciting as well as inspiring events. While most sports events do not require any ticket or purchase to be a spectator, the events below do require tickets to enter. Both the Opening and Closing Ceremony are FREE but still require a seating ticket at both RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. and Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia. The ticketing process will be announced shortly for the general public. Athletes, Friends and Family will receive their tickets at the Accreditation Center, Hyatt Reston Hotel, Reston, VA.
MEMORIAL SERVICES
National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park – Hosting the National Fallen Firefighter Memorial Service - A grateful Nation honors its fallen fire service heroes at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park located on the campus of the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Each year, America honors its fallen fire heroes during a National Memorial Service at the monument site. Ceremony to include: Presentation of colors; Keynote address; Pipe and Drum musical presentations; Ceremonial ringing of the bell. Reception will follow at the Campus Cafeteria. Please join us at this United States National Memorial as we pay tribute to our fallen comrades.

The National Law Enforcement Memorial – Hosting the National Law Enforcement Candlelight Vigil - The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. is the nation’s monument to law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. The Memorial honors federal, state and local law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the safety and protection of our nation and its people. Ceremonial events will include: Presentation of colors; Keynote address; Survivor stories; Lighting of candles; Taps bugle performance. Reception to follow at FOP Lodge 1, 711 4th Street, NW. Please join us at this United States National Memorial as we pay tribute to our fallen comrades.

OPENING AND CLOSING CEREMONY
Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium – Hosting Opening Ceremonies - It is a multi-purpose stadium, located near the Anacostia River in Washington, D.C. The historic D.C. sports venue has entertained spectators with its crowd-pleasing sightlines since 1961, and is affectionately known as “RFK” around the globe. Ceremonial events to include: Welcome celebration; Parade of athletes; Lighting of the torch; Athletes Oath; After ceremony musical concert celebration TBA. Come join us as we celebrate the Opening of the Fairfax 2015 Games and welcome athletes, family and friends from around the world. Come join your fellow athletes during the Parade of Athletes.

Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts – Hosting Closing Ceremonies - Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts is home to the architecturally stunning Filene Center, the 117-acre Park offers dining and hospitality amenities throughout the summer season including hiking trails and picnic areas. Join us as we celebrate the closing of the Fairfax 2015 Games and the passing of the torch to Montreal for the 2017 Games. Program includes: Closing presentation; Plassing of the WPFG Flag and torch to Montreal; Closing of the Fairfax 2015 Games; After ceremony concert with the popular 80s cover band 'The Leg Warmers'.
