Who should I contact about bringing my match rifle ammunition to the United States?

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, & Explosives (BATFE). They are the entity of the United States Federal Government who are responsible for regulating all firearms commerce, and maintain all firearms import/export authority within the United States. Competitors will need to complete the Temporary Importation of Firearms Form 6NIA found here:

The form MUST be completed & returned to the address on the form well in advance of the intended travel dates (approximately 4-6 months). Once you have received your form back from the ATF Importation Office, you will need to carry the form with your firearm at all times, and you must show this form to the Customs Agents upon entry into the United States. The World Police & Fire Games have assigned a contact person to assist competitors traveling with firearms:

Is there on-site storage for competitors equipment?

The Club does not have storage/locker facilities for competitors equipment. Firearms storage will be provided by the Fairfax County, Va. Police Department at pre-designated Police sub-Stations.

Is there sight-seeing or shopping nearby?

There are several shopping malls (Manassas Mall, Potomac Mills Mall); the historic Manassas Battlefield, & Prince William Forest Park are all within a relatively short driving distance (10 - 15 miles).

Is transportation available to & from the venue?

Is there internet connectivity at the venue?

The Club has free wireless connections (WiFi) located in the Clubhouse. Wireless telephone signals are weak on the Mann range . There are hard-wired emergency-only telephones located on the actual range itself.

Is there an Automatic Teller Machine at the venue?

No - there are numerous banking institutions within a 2 mile driving radius of the Club. The Pro-shop will process credit card transactions, however the canteen service is cash only.

Is there food service nearby?

The Club has a canteen service on site, which will provide a boxed lunch menu in the morning. Competitors electing to use the boxed lunch service will make their selection before the match, and then the boxed lunches will be delivered to the range during the lunch hour. Breakfast will be the responsibility of the competitor (The canteen is not open for breakfast). There are also multiple fast-food options within a 2 mile driving radius of the Club (competitors will be responsible for their own transportation to/from off-site food services).

What equipment is required for participation?

Per the Club’s rules, competitors are required to use appropriate eye & hearing protection while on the firing line. Competitors will furnish their own equipment (firearms, spotting scopes, shooting mats, eye protection, hearing protection, etc.) necessary to compete in the events. The WPFG will furnish all target hanging clips. All firing will be conducted on paper targets, using backer sheets. Target frames will be provided. Competitors will be responsible for changing out their own targets during the matches.

Are there gun-smithing services on site?

There is no gunsmith on-site.

Is suitable ammunition available?

The Club’s Pro-shop will be open for business during the match. The Pro-shop normally stocks recreational & hunting grade ammunition. If a competitor requires the use of match ammunition (Eley Red, Eley Black, Tenex, or Lapua), please contact us in advance at: info@fxrgc.org , and we might be able to have it available on-site for purchase.

Will a sighting-in period be allowed prior to the Matches?

Yes. The tentative date for sighting-in is set for July 1st, 2015 from 9:00 AM - 3:00PM EST. Any competitor desiring to sight-in their rifles, will be given 1 hour during that period to do so.

What is the range layout?

The range has a 30-position covered concrete firing point. There are portable toilets located within walking distance of the range. There are indoor toilets & showers located in the Clubhouse.

How do I get to the venue?

The World Police & Fire Games will provide transportation to and from the pre-determined transportation hubs outlined in the Official Entry book here:

What airports are near the venue?

Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Reagan National Airport (DCA) are both located within 25 miles of the Club, with a slight edge given to Dulles, for ease of transportation & proximity to the Club.
