Softball - Wakefield

Wakefield Park Softball Fields

Wakefield Park in Annandale, VA has a lot for everyone. The park is also the location for the Audrey Moore Recreation Center. In addition to the RECenter the park has baseball, softball and soccer fields, tennis courts, walking/hiking trails, skate park and two tot lots. The hiking trails are known by mountain bikers and the park hosts several bike events throughout the year.

Tennis - Robinson High

Robinson Secondary School Tennis Courts

James W. Robinson Secondary School first opened its doors in 1971. The school is named for the first Virginian to receive the Medal of Honor for his service during the Vietnam War. Sergeant Robinson’s actual medal is displayed in the school’s entrance showcase in the main hall. The building was originally designed as the “school for the individual” with the sub-schools providing a sense of community. The first principal was Samuel J. Coffey, and the football stadium is named in his honor. The first graduating class from Robinson was the class of 1973. The school colors are blue and gold, and the school mascot is the “Ram.” Robinson offers a diversified program of studies including the International Baccalaureate Program. In 2012 Robinson was ranked 88th in the Nation and 5th in the state of Virginia by US News and World Report.

Just one of Reston Virginia's four man-made lakes, Lakes Anne, Thoreau, Audubon and Newport, covering 125 acres and provide recreation and stormwater management for the community. Fishing, boating, wildlife watching and lakeside picnicking are available. Many sections of pathway are near the lakes, and simply walking near or around the lakes is a popular pursuit.

Encompassing 120,000 square feet, the Recreation and Athletic Complex (RAC) boasts three gymnasiums, racquetball courts, squash courts, and a two story fitness gallery. Recently renovated and re-opened in 2009, The RAC serves as the home for Mason Recreation programs, three intercollegiate sports (tennis, volleyball, and wrestling), ROTC Offices, as well as a classroom and offices for the School of Recreation, Health and Tourism.
