Matt Cook I agree with David. If you are a hobbyist then look for a used Canon 70-200 f/4L USM IS and get a teleconverter to push the lens out to 400mm. You'll lose a stop or two, but if you are shooting daytime field sports, you'll be fine. 9 years ago

David Payne Teleconverters are definitely an option, however be careful when choosing one. They do affect image quality and have other things to consider. For instance, a 1.4x teleconverter is the only one that I think can be used on a 70D with and f/4 lens... Show more 9 years ago

Hello, my name is Danielle and I have only recently entered into the world of photography.
