I play in a lot of golf tournaments and this is the only event I have ever been in that does not allow spectators. Your argument that it is a insurance issue is just ridiculous and spectators don't slow down play most of the time they speed up play as they help find the ball which leads to more eyes looking. Most of us bring a significant other with us for the experience and you take that away. When you ban spectators at all sports then I will understand. Even the US amateur allows spectators so lets so lets get with this, sending my wife out shopping for 6 hours each day is getting very expensive.
