In Belfast I was on the accreditation team and spoke to Craig a few times there, I've been a sports photographer by hobby for years. The Accreditation team tends to be busiest before the games actually start hence why it's possible for someone to be offered work with them as well as another role that kicks in once the games are underway.

Eileesh Buckley, I am on the accreditation team, and am local. This will be my first time with the Games, and I think it is a terrific idea to put together a list of good practices and survival strategies! My first shift is on the 18th.

So please do share any tips & tricks you get from the early days. I will share one particular tip from Belfast, keep Google Translate available on your computer and be ready to use it with non-English speakers, key phrase: "Can I have your service identification and passport, please?" The Passport is only necessary when they're from a country that doesn't use the roman alphabet on the service id.

Great tip, Eileesh! Craig Luecke, will we have power strips into which we can plug in electronic devices? Also, will the Hyatt at Reston Town Center give us access to their wifi?

I've just received notification that I've been offered a role in the accreditation team. As I'll be arriving from Ireland late on the 23rd I'd appreciate it if any early arrivals could post notes about the work in the teams as they get going. Post notes on any issues / gotcha's that people should be aware of who.
I worked on accreditation in Belfast 2 years ago and the early days were fairly quiet and let everyone figure out common issues and best practises before we got very busy. It's likely that my first shift will be on the 24th which will be when I expect things to be getting very busy. Hence my appeal that anyone doing shifts before June 24th please share your tips and tricks :)
