Hi there,
I'm hoping that someone is still monitoring this page because it appears I'm being ignored each time I send emails inquiring about when I will be receiving my Gold Medal.
It's been 9 months since the conclusion of these games and I'm yet to receive my gold medal for B Division All Events where I placed 1st with a total pin-fall of 2676 across 15 games (178.40 average). Well, I'm still waiting and I will not stop inquiring until I receive my Gold Medal!!!
I can be contacted by email @ pd09009@police.wa.gov.au or klaw2066@bigpond.net.au.
I look forward to a prompt response to this message.

Yesterday, Montreal's Senior Director of Sites and Competitions sat down with our host lanes for the bowling event (Laurentian Lanes).
There was much discussion about the history of the 'Games; specifically topics related to the bowling event. Montreal's Senior Director has spent a lot of time reviewing the bowling venues of the last few 'Games.
In addition to streamlining the process of proper bracketing and the medal ceremonies, there was discussion about adding 'side venues' to the bowling event: perhaps a bowling clinic conducted by pros (Laurentian Lanes is home to the Canadian Olympic Team's Head Coach Tyrel Rose among many other big name bowlers) and possibly a 'mini non sanctioned tournament' for friends and families of the competitors.
Please feel free to post any innovative suggestions or ideas that you would like to have forwarded to the Montreal committee regarding the bowling event... and looking forward to seeing you in Montreal!

I paid for, and have receipts for events that according to the published results, my scores were not entered or recorded.
Without doubt, this was the most poorly organised event that I have ever attended.

I have organised a large international bowling event at the World Firefighter Games in 2008, and while I understand that problems can and will occur, everything that I witnessed was completely avoidable.
The most disappointing thing was the complete, and continued, refusal of the event manager to communicate with the competitors, and his steadfast refusal to accept responsibility for any of the issues.
Are the 'Federation' going to continue this avoidance of responsibility, or are we going to get some answers?

The results are not right. In Women B-Division Double lost the second Place for Marla Wilcox and Jasmin Roth with 1602 Pins together.

I agree with all....poorest run tournament I've ever been associated with...as for me ended up bowling 10 games on the same pair of lanes...couldn't figure that one out...and hardly any photos of teams or individuals that did medal....and scores that aren't posted correctly...hopefully they'll figure it out....Someday

This will be my last post on this site and hopefully will be read by those doing any sort of debrief in relation to the bowling and considered by those organising the wpfg2017 in Montreal.
This event suffered on so many levels
1..Lack of knowledge and experience of running a high level bowling tournament.
2..Failure to correctly place bowler in the correct divisions and age groups
even though they had been told either verbally or by email
3..Late notice of scheduling changes
4..Delayed start...This will be my last post on this site and hopefully will be read by those doing any sort of debrief in relation to the bowling and considered by those organising the wpfg2017 in Montreal.

2..Failure to correctly place bowler in the correct divisions and age groups
even though they had been told either verbally or by email
3..Late notice of scheduling changes
4..Delayed start times and prolonged delays in changing lanes
5..Spliting Divisions to bowl over two days, therefore giving the bowler in the 2nd squad (next day) the knowledge of the top scores to beat.
6..This was a very large bowling alley. Single, Doubles, Team event could have been done on the same day. This would helped with a later start time and negate point 5
7..Recording and collating of the scores. This was so badly done that bowlers were made to wait hours for the medal ceremony, only for medals to be seized back, or no medals awarded due to suspect recording of the scores
8..Posting of daily scores for everyone to see. this helps bowlers and organisers, with finding errors at early stage
9.Total lack of policing the averages. This resulted in a certain bowler whose submitted average placed him in the B Div, when in fact this bowler was a high level bowler and should have been in the Open Div. The organisers should have disqualified that bowler.
10..Implementing a tournament average, policed by the wpfg/cpaf. This has been a problem at various past games. If all events scores are available from previous games, use them as well.
11..Perhaps a New Tournament Director
++++++++++++++++
The points above are a mixture of my own views and views from others who took part in the bowling. Please take them on board
If mistakes are repeated in Montreal, expect attendances for the bowling in future games to fall off expected levels
Thank you for taking the time to read this

Well it's been 4 days and like all the posts say no one stepping up to the plate, I see "Administrator" (Craig Lucke?) says he is busy with 60,000 pictures...what is more important having someone in an Official capacity contact us and explain why the medals are so messed up or posting pictures, which by the way I have yet to see any from bowling venue. I also stated my doubles team was in 2nd in "A" as they were giving them out and then they only post 2 teams in Final Results, and of course my...Well it's been 4 days and like all the posts say no one stepping up to the plate, I see "Administrator" (Craig Lucke?) says he is busy with 60,000 pictures...what is more important having someone in an Official capacity contact us and explain why the medals are so messed up or posting pictures, which by the way I have yet to see any from bowling venue. just checked the record/result for the bowling.. the records cannot be trusted
The results shown for the Mens B Div Doubles are the same as the medal ceremony, which I challenged at the ceremony and was found in my favour.
I got my silver medal at the bowl at the time. I feel sorry for those who have to collate the results from the event coordinators, who are dealing with bad info and thus showing bad result page, on this website

The thing that is annoying most at the moment is the lack of response from the local sport co-ordinators and the games co-ordinators having emailed both I have not even had an acknowledgement never mind a response I fear this will end up with the sports governing body

omitted from the open division doubles, Mark Lapinski and Jeff Martin. 932 and 1056 for 1988. 4th? It's a shame that the real winners on day 3 were all the people who knew they had no chance of medaling. They were able to leave and avoided the misery of too many hours waiting around the bowling alley for results that were botched. Ugh!

Well, I've been quiet here, but I need to vent. This was my 5th WPFG Bowling event. I thoroughly enjoy the competition and camaraderie.
In regards to possible average falsification, that would lie on the governing bodies stated in the rules (FIQ, and the WPFG Federation). The thing that really has me miffed is that at least one competitor was re rated into another division after he bowled a few games. In regards to possible average falsification, that would lie on the governing bodies stated in the rules (FIQ, and the WPFG Federation). The thing that really has me miffed is that at least one competitor was re rated into another division after he bowled a few games. While on the surface some believe this is correct, it is totally incorrect- these decisions have consequences. You simply don't change rules in the middle of the tournament (or once it commences).
Per the worldbowling.org website, I found this:
3.3 Eligibility
3.3.1 Players participating in sanctioned tournaments must be certified by their respective national
federation. The federation must not be under suspension by FIQ.....therefore, an average once submitted must have been certified, correct?
People complaining regarding that submitted average have a right to do so, but I am not finding anything in these rules regarding a re rating once competition begins. I would then conclude that if an average was indeed falsified, the competitor would be disqualified, NOT moved into another division. He may keep his possible wrongly awarded medals, but he should not be deemed a champion in the record books- the proper award winners should be recognized and awarded medals.
So while some are applauding the ruling of moving this competitor into a higher/proper division from his original division, it has cost a few competitors who were honest (like ME), silent at the lanes (ME) a medal or two. I maintain I can sleep at night knowing I gave my all, and may probably be robbed of a medal.
I am planning on writing a letter. I have never ever protested a tournament. I'm a USBC Local representative back home, and I've seen my share of errors by bowlers themselves, or even our own errors in our association.
I too plan on bowling in Montreal despite my sadness of what transpired.

It gets even better just scanned through the updated results posted online and the bronze medal we won with a score 300 pins more than the team shown in 2nd place doesn't exist as for the gold winning Aussies forget it they were never there.
The results that have just been added to the results website have omitted the results for the Masters All Events for all groups is this likely to be amended in the near future
There is a confusing result list posted now. on the main web page click on results, then under bowling. I hope someone can figure it out. doesn't show all events in each div just 1 big list!
